Our client bought this house with a clear view of what outcome she envisaged, but required our input to put ideas on paper in a form that would function well and was cost efficient.
She requested internal changes that would accommodate a comfortable main bedroom room, walk-in-robe and a large en-suite bathroom. She also wanted a study space in her bedroom.
To do this, we increased the houses dining room space and designed a new kitchen, changing the laundry area into a pantry. Externally, we provided a large deck area, which included the original kitchen, toilet, laundry and other storage areas.
On the first floor we provided a bedroom for her two teenage children — each with their own bathroom, and a treatment room for a home based business.
We married the old and the new well, while not trying to mimic or simply copy the existing. The synergy between the old and new has shaped the building into one stunning property and family home.

The client requested a two classroom prep facility for pre-school children with central service such as kitchen and art room spaces. Outside, we provided spaces that includes play equipment and sand pits under a sail roofed areas. The roofed sails were modelled and placed in such a way to provide maximum protection from the sun during play times.
The building is a very simple and functional form that became an asset for the school to accommodate pre-school kids. The design support spaces flowing from the inside of the two large classrooms to the outside play area, while sharing the functional central spaces.
Although the outside space is fenced and separated from the remainder of the school, it is visually well connected with the rest of the school. Courtesy of Elevation Architecture Studio
